BAKE SALE; Our annual bake sale will be on December 9th and this is just a reminder for everyone to start thinking of what they would like to bake - and buy - breads, cakes, pies, candy or cookies etc.
We will also have a White Elephant sale so if you have anything to donate, please wrap the article in any kind of paper and disguise it if possible. These are all sold for $1 and it is a very good money maker. It would also be nice if we could have a table of crafts if anyone is interested - nice gifts for Christmas.
Any questions or suggestions please call me at 722-2522 - Eunice
Mission and Ministry
This is the time of year we celebrate Thanksgiving. It is a time we really focus on all God has given us. It is also a great time to look at the mission and ministry of the Church and to give thanks for the gifts and responsibilities God has given us through our baptism.
As Baptized members of the Body of Christ, we are invited into the ministry of the Body, the church. Through our baptism we are equipped with spiritual gifts for ministry. Our spiritual gifts are given to us through baptism and for the purpose of building up the Body of Christ through ministry and mission. As we become aware of our gifts, we are responsible to not only become skilled in using our gifts, but to find ways to use them in order to build up the Body of Christ.
As we continue to explore our Baptismal covenant and calling, I invite you to consider not only your own call to ministry but St. Francis Church’s call to ministry. We are in a covenant together here at St. Francis to engage in mission and ministry in the community and in the world. We are not here for our selves alone, but for those in our community who need help, are searching for meaning in their lives, or who simply need a place to find some peace and comfort.
As the Body of Christ at St. Francis Church our mission, our purpose for existing, is to spread the Good News of the Gospel in and through everything we do and have. How do our buildings spread the Good News of the Gospel? How do our grounds spread the Good News of the Gospel? How does our worship spread the Good News of the Gospel? How does our staff spread the Good News of the Gospel? How do we, through Fellowship Dinner Groups, Francis Groups, ECW, Brotherhood of St. Andrew, The Daughters of the King, Choir, Acolytes, Altar Guild, Church School, Adult Education, Potlucks, Social Events, Chamber of Commerce, our Outreach Ministries spread the Good News of the Gospel? As individuals, how do each of you through your baptism spread the Good News of the Gospel?
I invite and encourage each of you to think of the many ways we, together with our buildings and grounds, have spread the Good News of the Gospel in the past and ask God to show you how we can continue to do so in the future.
